I started working on Amphi Botanicals as a passion project a few years back, inspired by adaptogens and their potential health benefits on the body. At the time, they were virtually unheard of within the West and primarily utilised in their native lands.
Now, however, they’re pretty much everywhere- from coffee shops to yoga studios, skincare products to adaptogenic blends (like ours, shameless plug hehe), adaptogens are quite the hot topic and much less elusive.
And this is all amazing! It’s great that we’re alchemising traditional forms of herbalism into easy-to-use, convenient solutions for the modern consumer. It’s also wonderful that science is now backing the claims that our ancient predecessors have been making for decades.
And while it's true that certain adaptogens can have incredible benefits-just like our faves Reishi mushroom, Lion’s Mane, and Ashwagandha- it’s important to be discerning when you’re consuming information about their benefits. Now that the hype is at an all time high, it’s the perfect time to knock it down a peg by being realistic about the claims and potential outcomes.
Will they work for everyone? Nope.
Will they solve all your problems? Absolutely not.
As a nutritionist behind a purpose-driven project, I definitely feel conflicted with how to approach the marketing side of things. On the one hand, adaptogens do feel like gifts from the Earth and all I want to do is rant about how special I think they are. On the other hand, I do not want to insinuate that a certain adaptogen will 100% work for every single person, nor will it substitute other essential lifestyle changes that need to be made to obtain a specific outcome.
Whether you’re trying to improve your focus or boost your immune system, you need to lean on yourself to implement the necessary changes. The solution doesn’t come solely from an external supplement, the supplement is ultimately there to complement your routine. Adaptogens are not the be-all and end-all.
At the end of the day, Amphi Botanicals is here to be a resource on your wellness journey. We believe informed choices lead to empowered wellbeing.
